This year Bridges Nepal UK Trust are focusing on the ongoing development of the villages that relocated following landslides due to the 2015 earthquakes and seasonal monsoons.
The children in these villages are particularly vulnerable to trafficking to fund the infrastructure of the villages.
With many generous gifts last year Bridges Nepal UK Trust have been able to invest in a community centre as a catalyst for income generation and self help groups and the building of toilets for a number of homes in the new villages. Please view the video below for a report from our partners about other ways your gifts have been invested.
This year's fund raising is seeking to implement permanent water supply for the villages as shown in the diagrammatic below. These are expected to cost up to £10000 when fully implemented.
In October I plan to visit Nepal at the start of the school year to assist in the distribution of the School Attendance Packs. These include Uniforms, Bags, Pencil Cases and Notebooks for those most vulnerable children selected by our partners in Nepal.
